About Us

Director - Amanda Malizia

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda, the director/owner of Simply Dance, as well as a teacher and choreographer. I wear many hats! I am also a pre-k teacher, as well as going to school and a wife! I hold my Head Teachers Certificate with the State of Connecticut. I am also CPR/First Aid/AED/Medication Certified with the American Heart Association. I have been a dancer since I was 2 years old and teaching dance since I was 12. In that time, I've taught all ages from 3-adult in groups and one-on-one private lessons, as well as working with students who have a range of disabilities. I was a competitive dancer for 15 years and then began to focus more on my students and performing.

I've danced on several national teams and traveled to Disneyworld in Orlando, Las Vegas, and Atlantic City. I hold several certifications from programs such as Broadway Dance Center Dance Teacher Training, Dance Master of America, Pulse Dance Teacher Training, and I am currently furthering my education with the National Dance Education Organization.

I am a Certified Dance Teacher and you can find me

My ultimate goal as a dance educator is to teach my students to us their maximum potential in a safe and proper way. I want to share my passion and love of dance with each and every student as well as open up theirs. To teach the discipline and love of a beautiful art form.

Associate Director - Melanie Shea

My name is Melanie Shea and I am Simply Dance's Associate Director. I started dancing when I was four years old and began teaching when I was 11. Dance has given me so much in my life and I am so lucky to be able to pass that long to my students. I am a Connecticut certified Elementary School teacher in addition to my dance training. I enjoy traveling to New York yearly to continue my dance education to constantly show my students the newest techniques and keep my own ideas fresh.

Dance can help students develop so many life skills in addition to learning the art. My goal is to help my students not only learn to dance, but become well rounded individuals with confidence in themselves to succeed.

Teacher: Kylee Latta

My name is Kylee and I am 22 years old. I have been dancing since I was 2 and teaching since I was 13. I am currently a nanny of two adorable children but my ultimate goal is to become a police officer or child psychologist. Growing up with younger siblings has helped me navigate all types of situations with kids and I truly love working with young kids and helping them grow to their full potential.
