Simply Dance Studio
A Nightmare's Carol - Spring Production
Coming May 2022 - stay tuned for more details
Winter 2021 Showcase
This year proved to be just as busy as the last. With restrictions still in place, our dancers continued to rehearse with masks and distancing. But we were so thrilled and thankful to be able to have our Winter show take place in person and on time. Our dancers really shined on stage and we are so proud of all of them. Shows are always a reflective time for us to remember what we are thankful for. As a small studio, we are beyond thankful to have survived these past two years and that's thanks to our wonderful families. Thank you for all your support and love, it means the world to us!
10/6 and Winter...Wait Spring! Shows
We have certainly been busy! Two different shows, four performances, within two months! These kids worked so hard over quarantine, zoom lessons, and dancing in masks to pull this off and we couldn't be more proud! Our winter show was finally able to take place outside in May and then our production 10/6 (our version of Alice in Wonderland) took place in June. We are so fortunate to have not only the space outside to perform, but the support of the most amazing kids and families to make it possible. This is truly something we will never forget, for all the best reasons <3
Best Lessons on Lessons.com
THANK YOU! We were listed as one of the best dance studio for lessons at lessons.com. Thank you for your continued support of the studio and our students.
Beyond the Rainbow... Under the stars
This year the world was put to a stop with the pandemic. Our students kept attending classes on Zoom and working just as hard at home as they would in the studio. The third time was a charm for dates! We rented an outdoor stage and put on a socially distanced show right in our own parking lot. To say we are proud is an understatement. The dedication and support we felt during this time of uncertainty was beyond anything we could have imagined. We are so incredibly happy to be surrounded by this family. Not even a pandemic can hold these kids back!
James "Combo" Marino comes to Simply Dance!
Our students had another chance to learn from James, but this time in our own studio! Socially distanced, with masks these dancers trained from a professional and learned some new hip hop moves. Thank you for coming James!
Eminence Movement auditions for AGT!
In November, Eminence Movement was invited to audition for America's Got Talent! The girls rode the train to the city for the chance of a lifetime. The teachers have auditioned before, but our pre-professionals experienced their first audition together (for some of them it was their first trip to the city as well!). It was such a valuable experience that they will treasure forever. Stay tuned in the coming months for the results!
Simply Dance has a new home!
On November 1st Simply Dance Studio moved to a new home. We are SO excited for this opportunity. The space offers two larger rooms for the dancers with beautiful sprung floors, a waiting room for families, a separate space for dancers to put their belongings/do homework between classes, and more storage space all in a beautiful, peaceful location. This space is exactly what we've dreamed of for!
West Haven Apple Festival
Some of our dancers performed at the West Haven Apple Festival. The girls always have a great time performing for the town and meeting new dancers! It doesn't matter what the environment- grass, stage, these girls just want to dance!
We are so proud of you all.
12:Midnight Benefit Performance
Simply Dance was honored to put on a benefit performance of our 12:Midnight production in honor of a beautiful young lady. Gabby Murillo is from our hometown and a neighbor to one of our students. While pursuing her dream in Disney, a negligent drunk driver paralyzed Gabby from the neck down. We put on two performances and raised money to help ease the financial burden the family is facing. All proceeds went directly to benefit Gabby's family, in addition to the money raised from the over 2,500 cans/bottles collected at the studio.
Eminence Movement at RAW
Eminence Movement performed as a part of RAW artists at the Oakdale Theater on August 21st. This was their third time with RAW. RAW spotlights local artists and hosts a creative showcase of dance, art, beauty, photography, and more. Our dancers stopped the show with their new choreography and had a blast sharing in a night filled with talent.
James "combo" Marino Workshop
Our dancers and director had the amazing opportunity to dance and learn from a world-renown choreographer. These ladies stepped out of their comfort zone, left it all on the floor, and had a once in a lifetime experience. We are so proud!
Memorial Day Parade
Some of our beautiful dancers marched and danced their way through West Haven's Memorial Day parade. We are so thankful for the brave men and women who fight to protect our country and it was so special to be able to dance in their honor. Thank you ladies for a job well done!
12:Midnight - Our first production!
This past season the studio put on our first production called 12:Midnight, our version of a classic Cinderella with a modern twist. It was a learning experience for dancers and directors alike, ending in a very successful show. With so much positive feedback we are already brainstorming ideas for our second production, coming in our Spring 2020 season.
Joby Rogers Workshop
THANK YOU to Joby Rogers for an amazing workshop in March! Everyone who attended had a blast- learning real Michael Jackson dances from a true professional. We cannot wait to dance with you again!
